It was our anniversary...so I wanted a special dining experience for myself and wife...the Western Isles did not let me down.There were 4 off us in our party. We ordered Salmon Cerviche and I had lobster bisque for starters..3 steaks for mains and one venison with special black pudding and potatoe stack...Matthew the manager...although very young had his staff looking after his clients effeiciently...a bit off a task as the two male servers were Eastern European...and whilst polite...there command of the English language was limited.I hasten to add...this did not cause any problems with any of the service. I have been visiting the Isle of Mull...and Tobermory since 1993...and never eaten at the Western Isles...that will be changing from now on. Unique menu of local produce a good selection of wines and spirits and all at a reasonable price

This is the BEST hotel in Scotland. Do yourself a favour and go stay here. Tobermory is gorgeous. I was on the patio having drinks in the sunshine last summer. Wish I was going back. Staff are fantastic, drink is great, food is amazing and the view is outstanding! Say hello to the owners and tell them I sent you!

Western Isles hotel is a beautiful very old building but a perfect hotel, extremely comfortable suite with exceptional views and wonderfully comfortable bed hard to get up of a morning except to know that a scrumptious breakfast was waiting for you in the breakfast room. Dinner in the conservatory was 1st class with more views of beautiful harbour and town to watch while dining. I have left the staff and owners till last as words cannot describe how wonderful they all are from time of booking by emails to and from to saying goodbye. A big thank you to all of you. And of course being able to relate with Mackey, Molly, Jason and the reception area dogs was very pleasurable as we are missing our dogs at home so it was great being able to fuss over beautiful dogs with pats and kisses from them
