Very good chips and batter on the fish. Curry sauce not the best. Seems a bit unorganised and you end up waiting longer than needed if they didn’t mix orders up. It is a very good fish and chip shop, however the wait is just a bit annoying.
Lovely food and great service. My order was very nice and was pretty quick too. Everything in my order was cooked fresh so it was nice and hot! The staff are very nice and up for a laugh and joke. The price is not too bad, maybe a slight bit high but I would go back if I was in the area 100%!
2 family members and I go to visit other family in, Theydon Bois from the south coast, 1-2 weekends a month (sometimes more, sometimes less).
But, we never miss an opportunity to pop into this chip shop on a Saturday afternoon (even the family members who say "oh I’m not hungry, I’ll just have quarter/half with someone" - Will CLEAN their plates!)
Part of our order will always include; a large chips (huge! Easily share between 4-5 ladies), battered cod, cod roe, sausage in batter, and then maybe something else to try, such as; a saveloy, curry spring roll, Donna meat and chips a pie, pickled onions or gherkins.
Have ordered from here many times and never, ever had a bad meal, chips are always chunky, fresh and delicious, the batter on the fish, sausages & roe is always light, crunchy and just the right thickness.
Just as important is, the staff who serve us, always do so with a genuine smile and friendliness- Whether it’s face to face or over the phone. I’ve worked in customer service for over 20years, so I really pay attention to these things, the staff just come across a caring, attentive and kind.
Definitely a 5 star rating from me
