This cafe style all day breakfast joint has to one of my all time favourite places to get some quick substance inside my ever grumbling belly. I have been visiting this establishment for over twenty years and they have never let themselves down. The regent started out as Star burgers way back in time, and has changed name on a few occasions, however I think the owners must have remained from the original opening as the food menu is that of yesteryear and the quality has never faltered. The menu consists of all day breakfasts like two eggs, sausage, hash browns and beans a choice of fried bread or toast with lashings of butter. There are many variations and most can be tailored if you ask. The main meals range from burgers to omelette and chips, the menu is very broad and inviting. Tea is always made just to my taste and the condiments are always full. I went last friday and opted for an all day breakfast, as ever the service was prompt, the food excellent and the portions always larger than you remember. You are never rushed into paying or feel as if the staff want you to leave. The staff never hover around taking your empties away or drop hints with mannerisms about getting you out. Perfect place and one of the ones I actually give a good tip to as I leave.

Friendly staff, plenty of space and good menu including all day breakfast at weekends
