We turned up quite late just before the kitchen was closing, but the staff were happy to take our order. The restaurant is quite large in a nice waterfront setting and food was moderately priced.
I ordered the cod loin which came well presented and a very generous helping.
The waiting staff were polite and efficient. Would definitely recommend.
Suppose there should be two parts to this; the cafe and the restaurant. So I will review both.
The cafe - average surroundings, the day I went it seemed to be extremely cold in there, most people kept their coats on . I kept it simple and had a pizza, which was very good. Plenty of toppings and was cooked perfectly.
The restaurant - went here for a birthday meal. Much better, warm and ambient surroundings (the cynic in me tells me this is exactly how you're meant to feel, meaning you'll go and spend more in the restaurant, rather than the cafe). I had the pasta carbonara, which was absolutely superb. The service was excellent, and overall I would fully recommend it to anyone.
Four stars maybe because the selection on the menu isn't as varied and in depth as most Italian restaurants.
Excellent lunch in great location. Two course menu for £12.95. A la carte menu also which was very extensive. 3 of us had the delicious pea & fish cakes with dill and a pesto sauce mmmmm my second course was grilled chicken with mushroom bacon cream sauce. Very tasty although a little salty for me but everyone else said theirs was fine. Huge portion of vegetable risotto. Very personable and efficient staff
