Just off A34, with a car park, this is a busy restaurant. Most people head straight for the carvery, with selection of roasted meat and vegetables. Food was good, although it’s more
expensive at the weekend.
Some slight downsides, the car park was partially flooded (we have had a lot of rain), with what looked like an abandoned car with smashed up windows. Also some of the decor looks like it could do with a spruce up, the seat we were on was held together with tape. Also they seemed short staffed, once we sat down no-one came over to see if we needed anything, or if our food was ok.
We used to use this place quite a lot a few years ago. But we had had a few not so great meals. So we hadn't been here for a number of years. So we thought it was time we gave it another try. Happy we did. Our small group enjoyed our food. Few bits weren't perfect but on the whole it was good and we will be back again for more.
The food was excellent - lots of choice of veg and all beautifully cooked.
The surroundings were clean, comfortable, well presented and welcoming.
The waitress was very good and brought our water in very nice large glasses with ice.
All very good value for money to boot!
