I’ve always been fascinated with trying new foods from other places and I’m lucky enough to say I’ve tasted dishes from quite a few countries. It’s weird to think then, that up until June this year I’d never tried a proper Mexican taco. I know.. what was I thinking?! Well that changed when I went to Chiquito. Stemming from an on-the-spot choice of restaurant when the first one was full- my new found love for Mexican food started here. The place has a excited and vibrant feel to it- almost as if its atmosphere is sizzling steak on a hotplate. My girlfriend ordered the pulled pork enchilada while I ordered the beef chilli loaded taco with sour cream. OH WOW was it good. I 100% intend to order it again along with a new side next time I think. The menu ranges from your tacos and enchiladas to your chimichangas and paellas along with some steak dishes for less adventurous eaters. I washed it all down with a cold mojito myself, but take your pick of their wide selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Chiquito opens from 9am-11pm all week apart from Sunday where it closes a mere half-hour earlier. Some things I have to say is the mojito was too bitter for me so I would have liked to see a sweeter taste to it and the heat when it’s packed was an issue so windows/doors could maybe be opened to air it out a bit. Regardless I loved this place and will be going back sooner rather than later- might even have found my new favourite restaurant. 🌮
