Apologies if this is a repeat review.
This is fast becoming a regular haunt for refreshments on our walks. They have a breakfast menu and selection of cakes. Sadly I can't eat anything due to my gluten free diet. However, they are happy to offer a sausage for our canine companions.
Genuine feedback they close at 4pm. Over the summer there have been plenty of people around at the 6-7pm mark and it is closed. Perhaps consider longer opening times for summer 2024.
I visit here quite a bit, sometimes twice a day if I'm heading for a Rother Valley Park cycle run. The service is great, the food is great and they have plenty of seats to sit down on to watch the barge go back and forth taking passengers back to the Chesterfield hub.
You will mostly find it quite busy with walkers and cyclists, especially if the weather is warm and sunny.
I've ticked 'dine in' as it didn't have an option for sitting outside and 'other' can be anything from sweet tea, black coffee, bacon sandwich or buttered fruit scones and various cakes. Get there early if you want those items because they go very quickly!!
I MUST add this information about the barge. They do fantastic 'Meet Santa' barge trips around Christmas time. For many years it was always a toss the coin up to either having a barge journey or the Santa train just passed Two Dales. Both were great experiences.
I hope this is helpful.
Small coffee shop doing decent coffees from a machine. Teas and cold drinks also available. Also does a selection of cakes, scones (they've been good both times I've had them!) and butties. Limited seating inside, but more outside, where it's nice to sit out beside the canal on a nice day.
