Went for Mother’s Day lunch. Service was good and the staff friendly. Quite a big place and has a large outside seating area too.
They were busy and had three sittings on our table throughout the afternoon. We were given plenty of time though to eat which was good. Didn’t feel rushed.
The food was nice, never had ham hock like that before. The dessert I forgot to take a picture of - was sticky toffee pudding which was lovely.
The roast beef dinner was ok. Was on the menu as ‘roasted pink’… not so much… you can see on the picture that it was a little over-done. Still tender but just not what was expected. All round, most of the table were happy with their food.
Had a lovely Sunday roast here, and mussels and chips for my dining partner! Plenty of friendly staff on shift, and Claire in particular really looked after us on our visit. Enjoyed the 0% Thatchers cider that was recommended... and really, it's such a beautiful pub with all the beams.
Went for a Sunday lunch on the 2nd visit to this wonderfully charming little pub. The food and service was superb, waitress was attentive but not too much, the perfect balance. Even with a few large parties to cater for, our food came out very quickly and was faultless. We were seated in the newer part to the pub which is decorated accordingly. The front part of the pub is full of character and it's old style is beautiful. Watch your head though, that part isn't for basketball players let's say. Will be back 👍🏽
