The Millstone is a large, historic and quite picturesque pub in the centre of the small town of Stamford, one of literally a dozen pubs within a five-minute-walk radius. This is definitely one of the best ones in some respects: nice interior, a beautiful and large beer garden in the back, historic front, and good, handmade pizzas (on weekends only). I spent a couple of hours there on a Saturday afternoon when it was quite busy. Service was good, my pizza (made on site, directly opposite of my table) was well-made and competitively priced (UKP 10 for any variety), and the atmosphere was pleasant if you don't count a group of vulgar, cheap women ("Girls night out") who were loud and rather obnoxious. You'll find those at any larger British pub on weekends. The cask selection is decent if rather conventional (Timothy Taylor Landlord et al), drinks prices are okay.
Great pub, lovely staff, beautiful outside seating area with outdoor TV, gorgeous plants, nice clean toilets and super atmosphere. Highly recommend 💯
Great beer garden and friendly atmosphere. Worth a pop in on a sunny day. Pizza's available at the weekends I think. Just a nice place to stop and have a drink in the sun.
