Went specifically for afternoon tea and was not disappointed. Nothing better on a cold, rainy day than a nice cuppa. I enjoyed every bit of it but especially recommend the scones with clotted cream and strawberry preserves.
My friend and I were visiting Plymouth when we passed by Shelly’s Tea Rooms. We were in awe but we’re sad to notice when it was 5:15pm but they close at 5. That was when Shelly let us right in and let us sit, have some tea, and told us to take our time. This place is the cutest place ever, the ambiance is amazing, and Buddy the dog is the cutest! The tea was good, if I lived in the area I’d be here all the time, will hopefully return soon!
We took my mum to Shellys Tea Rooms for a birthday lunch. First thing-make a reservation.
When we were there it was a full house, very popular. The owner was really nice and treated us very well.
The selection of food and tea to choose from was very extensive. The food itself was really scrummy as they say in the UK. (my family is from the UK) In other words, it was delicious! Boxes to go for leftovers (we had leftovers because there was so much food).
The atmosphere was nice and inviting. We sat at the large table in the front window so it was bright and warm 👍.
Parking is either along the main road (2 hr free) or in a lot behind the building (paid lot).
They also have some goodies to buy after you're done.
Definitely a nice place to bring your mum, family or friends.
