This is a lovely pub. We arrived on Friday evening about twenty minutes before they closed the kitchen. The pub is obviously the centre of village life, as it was very full for their quiz night. We had a delicious meal, and then tried to book for 8 p.m. on Saturday night. In spite of being fully booked in the main restaurant (62 people!), they managed to squeeze us in. They advised us in advance that there might be a bit of a wait for the food, but kept us fully updated about progress. When the meals arrived, they were well worth waiting for. The portions are extremely generous and the quality of the food is superb. Will definitely be back!
This place is amazing. It's picturesque and so welcoming. The staff can't do enough to help, and the food....wow. definately visit this place if you are ever in cornwall. Xxx
Visited here today for a Sunday carvery and was not disappointed! The pub itself is beautiful and full of character, it is obvious it has a good local following and friendly atmosphere. The carvery is one of the best stocked I have seen. Being a vegetarian it's sometimes hard to eat out on a Sunday without having to have the obligatory vegetarian lasagne but this pub caters well for vegetarians, I was able to enjoy the carvery with a nut roast and the portion sizes are enormous! My husband who has a big appetite was well impressed and my 3 year old was well looked after too.
I can see why this place comes well recommended. It is quite busy so booking is advisable but we will certainly return again! Big thanks to the staff and management for a lovely meal!
