White River Fishbar is simply 'THE' best Fish & Chips in the St Austell area -
Me and my family went here for the very first time today after meaning to try them for a while, and in short we weren't disappointed. We all really enjoyed them! The chips were perfectly done, fresh fish of a fine quality in a fresh perfect crispy batter. We also ordered a fully loaded double burger and it was perfect in every way, they're flame grilled the proper way and so the cook had the ol' flames going when cooking. If you're a burger man like me, you definitely need to try here!
One of the first things that struck me was the politeness of staff and the 5 Star Food Hygiene rating on the door, my mum even commented on how cleanly the shop was. The lady at the counter was very helpful. The preparation of food was very professional and the young gentleman there must be a proper chef and clearly takes pride in his work. So complements to the chef!
I will certainly make this my local and will return in due course. And add White River Fishbar to my personal best and recommend list.
Personally I'm very picky and particular about my Fish & Chips and for me to even write a review is extremely rare, we traveled from Roche as I refuse to eat from our local chippy as they're quite frankly terrible.
Read the reviews and decided to give it a go and loved it. Everything is cooked beautifully and not too greasy. We won’t go to any other chip shop now. �
We visit here every time we are in the area. Well cooked food, cooked to order at a brilliant price. Portions are very generous. The best fish and chips in the area by far!!
