An interesting if limited seasonal menu, not perhaps the most user friendly for a long stay in the hotel, as there are relatively few choices, but absolutely fine for 2 or 3 nights. If you are staying elsewhere not an issue of course. My (tasty) rabbit sausage sadly was accompanied by unexpected bone fragments. Other dishes were all fine, if perhaps unnecessarily ambitious. Sometimes simplicity works better.
Amazing views and service with a comfy atmospheric feel. The staff will greet you with a warm welcome and the food is always well presented. Service was at the upmost of importance, its expensive but would recommend to anyone wanting a fine dining experience within St Albans. Maybe even a walk round the beautiful grounds later?
