After trawling around the town unsuccessfully looking for a restaurant that was reasonably priced and had gluten free options, we headed back to the pier and its was a good move. The restaurant was welcoming and the staff were very friendly. I was handed a gluten free menu and was delighted to see that there lots of lovely dishes on it. I had the torched coley and it was delicious, everyone’s food was very good. There was also a large selection of nice soft drinks. Added to all this, there were plenty of tables available ( we arrived at about 2.30) and a lovely view of the sea. Definitely recommended.

With 5 days notice the staff were happy to take a booking for 19 people to celebrate a big birthday. Lisa was incredibly friendly and helpful on the phone and I was confident that all the arrangements would go well. On the night all the staff were friendly and efficient. They were happy for us to take our time and at no point did we feel rushed even though it was past closing time when we finished. The sharing platters were excellent as starters and the rest of the food was delicious. The crab mac & cheese portions are very big so make sure you are hungry! I would thoroughly recommend a meal at The Boardwalk. The view is fantastic and it is warm and welcoming even on a stormy night. We will definitely be back.
