This café serves very nice food and drinks, especially the breakfasts. The owners are very friendly, and will speak to you about anything you want.
Since I moved to Southport in May 2020, it was the first and only cafe I've used, and will continue to use, every week or so.

On the recommendation of a friend who is a regular visitor, I decided to pop in the New Thistle for lunch and was not disappointed! Ordering the sausage baguette, I was expecting some little thing but when it came it was absolutely ENORMOUS, with chips to match, and beyond delicious. I couldn't eat for the rest of the day! The cup of tea was nice too and I was made to feel part of the family by Jan from the moment I walked in to the minute I left, a service the other customers received as well; she couldn't do enough for us. I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Southport

Fantastic place. Staff could not have been nicer, and the food was excellent. My sausage baguette was amazing, and the cheese sandwich was really fresh. Decent cup of tea to boot

What a lovely little cafe. The owners are very friendly and polite. The cafe is spottless and they have a great menu including a specials board... the food ranges from a full cooked breakfast, main courses, homemade soup and sandwiches, cakes, and puddings all Home Cooked !
I had the chicken ham and mushroom pie with chips peas and gravy ... it was piping hot and I enjoyed every mouthful .
The hot drinks are "Hot" and stay hot the milky coffee is amazing highly recommended.
So if your looking for a nice place to eat this little gem in Southport is highly recommended.
