This would have been my 4th visit to Berry’s.
The food is amazing and very well priced, apologies I forgot to take a photo of the menu.
So far I’ve had the sausage rolls, sausage sandwich, carrot cake and the spicy sizzler pizza (made from Berry’s homemade cheeses).
My advice is to spread the cheese on the pizza, it was just the right amount of spice for me personally.
Fantastic food! The cheesy garlic bread is the BEST I have ever had. Will be coming more often. Staff are polite and friendly. Be great to see some super foods (healthy alternatives) in there too as a recommendation.
Well, following an online discussion about the merits of a Greggs sausage roll and the price, I was alerted to the presence of a vegan frli in Southend-on-Sea. I tried the Greggs offering and it was not all that, OK but not one I would want again. I was then told about this little gem, Berry's, which h is s vegan deli as the title says.
It is a small shop tucked into one of the side streets near the seafront. I only went in to first make its acquaintance and secondly to purchase a sausage roll. The greeting on entering was enough to tell me this is a good shop as manners and pleasant service is essential in my book. It is a small shop and I got there quite early and asked to buy one of their regular sausage rolls.
One of the online debates was the cost difference between the Greggs and this one which is 50p difference and therefore 50%more expensive. Now I count my pennies and often go for the cheaper option to save as when you are on the breadline every oennp counts. However the sausage roll here was worth the extra, a lovely homemade roll that was well seasoned and had a beautiful pastry on. The service was polite and friendly, unlike other places a lot of times and I took my sausage roll and scoffed it down with delight.
I will be back. 🌻🌻🌻
