Great spot with very nice food. Thoroughly enjoyed the coq au vin and sticky lamb dishes, and the cod goujons from the kids was very good and great value. My daughter also loved the Bumbleberry juice!
The only negative on the food front was the chips with the kids meal were so over salted it could've killed an adult hippo. I had to wipe the salt off literally each chip with a napkin before giving them to my 4 year old.
Service was a bit slow when we got there, I think it was a shift changeover, so I had to get my own menus, find someone to take my order, but it got better after that and they were very attentive.
There was a couple of issues over food, but staff was excellent & everything solved quickly
Apart from that nice place lively good atmosphere
Staff friendly
A quiet, elegant dining room, helpful staff and terrific choice of music from 1960's through to early 1980's while we were there.
A lovely meal and attentive but not intrusive service.
The only downside was access, impossible for a wheelchair.
A very pleasant experience and the best part of our day in Southend.
