Great staff very helpful, and friendly. food has never disappointed me. Just a shame Greene King doesn't purchase a new coffee machine!! I know its a pub, but serving food is nice to have a decent coffee after. the machine is out of action more times than not. Can't moan at the staff it's not their fault
We drove up from Somerset to meet up with an old friend here on the 3rd September to pay our respect to him and his family, as we can’t make the funeral. I know the pub from the days as the Troubadour back in the 70’s when I lived there. I have to say that everything about our visit was a joy. The staff were friendly and very capable. The standards in the pub were great and the atmosphere during the football showed that this is good pub to watch sport in.

This is an old style pub in the community. The manager is a cracking guy , and nothing is too much trouble. The food is acceptable and well priced. Served by friendly staff who can't do enough to ensure you're happy. The only reason for 4 stars is that the furniture is very dated and jaded, however, the manager is very much aware of this and, as the finances are made available, the decor and furniture shall be renovated or replaced.
Very happy to call in a couple of times a week.
