This is as a traditional pub as you are going to get. Owners were really friendly and the food menu was spot on. This pub is located off the main road but is very easy to find. Not much parking outside but there is a road opposite, which is where we parked.
These sort of hidden gems need to be supported so definitely pop in if you are local, even if it's just for a drink.
Lovely Homemade food. Lovely little place.
Cosy traditional pub with a few nice ales on draft. The landlord and lady are extremely welcoming and make you feel right at home. There is a lovely open fire with further traditional decor. The food is homely traditional pub grub; for example steak pie, lasagne, haddock fish cakes, lamb shank and steaks etc. We had the lamb shank and steak pie, which came with chips and peas. Both were extremely nice and I am looking forward to trying more of the menu on my next visit. The lamb shank was extra special.
Please note that this pub doesn't open every night during winter however I believe it does in the busier summer months.
A small, dogfriendly pub that surprised us by serving excellent food! I had chicken with bacon in creamy pesto sauce with tagliatelle and roasted cashews which was delicious. My partner had the steak pie and loved it, perfect pastry with lots of meat in very tasty sauce.
This is a homely warm and very traditional English pub that we discovered whilst on our way to North Devon beach. When we entered we were immediately struck by the warmth and rustic feel of this little gem. The locals and staff made us feel very welcome, and the food was fresh tasting and cooked to a high standard. I enjoyed the Steak and Kidney Pie which was packed full of tender succulent meat in lots of gravy and a light puff pastry crust. Thoroughly recommend to hungry and travellers passing by!
