Great bread and and great pastries. Their croissants are the best I've tasted for a long time.
A great to stop and buy a coffee with a pastry whenever you are passing. The staff are helpful and friendly and are more than happy to fill your own reusable cup if you don't want a disposable cup.
If you are after a specific pastry or loaf of bread you should get there early as their stock goes fast!
I've been visiting Marsin's for some time now, The chocolate brownies and almond croissants are to die for all accompanied by a lovely cup of coffee.
Some time back, there was a lovely lady serving with a foreign accent, French I think, serving in the bakery who now appears to have left.
On a recent visit however, I was served by a rather brusque and rude chap who when charging me just looked at me with no smile and just said 'seven'..... £7 he meant. No please, smile, or even thank you. Quite off putting for me and quite a contrast to the friendly affable staff at other local establishments where nothing is too much trouble. It's a shame but this experience and attitude will put put me off from using this excellent establishment again as it would any other.
It is fantastic to find a typical French bakery in the heart of the West Midlands. I go there every week. I am French with Portuguese roots and I feel nostalgic about the real taste of croissants 🥐 pains au chocolat and baguettes 🥖… The pastries and bread taste like if you were in France. And the variety of bread and pastries are amazing for a small bakery. Do not hesitate: this is the place to buy your bread 🥖 and croissants 🥐 ! You can also find delicious 🤤 donuts and pasteis de nata.
