This is the first time which I have tried the British famous tea and scones here. Nice experience of afternoon milk tea, delicious bakery, clotted cream and strawberry jam. Wonderful scenery in the garden of a huge building; founded in 1855.
Hampton Manor is a luxury country house hotel located on the outskirts of Birmingham in the little village of Hampton in Arden. Set in 45 acres of lush green surroundings, this 5 star hotel really does have it all. Home to stunning architecture, bags of history, award-winning Peel’s Restaurant and the perfect venue for weddings or celebrations, it has a touch of grandeur about it and you feel spoilt whilst staying here. This 19th-century Tudor country house apparently used to be a care home, before it was lovingly restored to all its glory. Inside it’s very grand, from the spiral staircase with huge chandelier at its centre, to wood panelled board rooms, a cosy bar, sumptuous dining room and The Parlour – a lavender coloured room with a warmly lit fireplace at either end which made for an unforgettable aroma.
Birmingham? for food? If you’d had asked me that same question five or six years ago I’d have disagreed with you, but now it’s a whole other story. Birmingham, famed for its quality curry houses is slowly become a top foodie destination. This culturally rich city is now home to 5 Michelin starred restaurants, a couple of Bib Gourmands and tons of AA Rosettes – within a 10 mile radius, there’s even more. We found ourselves staying on the outskirts of Birmingham in Solihull’s, Hampton-in-Arden. A quaint village experience with a cosy pub at its centre and home to the magnificent country house hotel, Hampton Manor.
