We had an excellent night for my husbands birthday celebration. Fantastic food; I would highly recommend, with warm and friendly staff. Finished off by a very competitive game of skittles. The only down side to the night was, the men won. Thank you Craig and staff x
I'd never been to this pub before but I had heard good things about it, so when a group of friends suggested we went along for a meal there last night we decided to join them & I'm glad we did.
The food was lovely, the service was attentive but not crowded but what struck me most was the genuine warmth of the welcome when we arrived and throughout the evening from the landlady and staff there. Beyond what would normally be expected in the service industry we all felt genuinely valued.
It's a down to earth country pub with good food, good beer and a fantastic welcome. We will be back.
Worth the uphill 20 minute walk from the canal, there is a defibrillator in the village Friendly welcome, had the Braised Faggot's in gravy with mash, and a free plate if chips for the small delay as they had a big party in the restaurant. Good selection of beers, big place but cosy. Games available. Definitely worth a visit.
