The Lion

Visited at the start of September 2023 for Sunday lunch. Great experience, the pub/inn is a great mix of smart yet relaxed, old and contemporary. Staff were all friendly and helpful and the food was excellent and not too expensive considering the quality. Didn't use the beer garden, but it was popular, looked very inviting and a game of 'aunt sally' was underway during our visit.

Our meals were all delicious, well presented and good value for money. The menu wasn’t huge but covered all tastes very well. I had a chickpea tagine, hubby had steak ( cooked to perfection) daughter had pie of the day steak & ale , all mouthwatering. Lovely busy atmosphere for a village pub, even mid week. There is a beautiful garden for those rare dry days too. Had a nice chat with Mark the owner, The Lion is in excellent hands! We’ll be back!!

Stayed in Tredington for a week in a lovely cottage across the road to the lion. Booked a table for the Wednesday night, the welcome, food and atmosphere was so nice we booked again for the Friday night which was our last night & we wanted something to enjoy for our last meal on our holiday. Once again, didn’t disappoint the service and food was outstanding.

Had a lovely 2 night stay at the Lion. The room was really well presented, clean and comfortable. We stay in the Cotswolds quite often and this is hands down the best place we have stayed for a number of reasons. Mark the owner is wonderful, very welcoming, friendly and nothing is too much bother. We ate there the first evening, we were so impressed with the food we ended up eating there on the Saturday evening too. The food is incredible, probably the best pub food we have ever had, and it is reasonably priced too. We were so impressed with our stay, we have booked our parents a 2 night stay In September for their wedding anniversary and we plan to return in December. The pub is lovely, well decorated, has a lovely atmosphere and mark and his team are fantastic.

We had a lovely lunch here today 26/7/2023 we were passing and just popped in. The service was excellent especially as the place was very busy ( always a good sign) a lovely selection and our lunch was well presented and very reasonable in cost and tasted great. The hostess was brilliant and deserves plenty of credit for managing so much.

Had a fantastic stay here at the weekend. Mark the owner was incredibly hospitable and went over and above to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable, including finding a place to stow our bikes and letting us stay beyond checkout to accommodate our plans. The room we stayed in was lovely with real country pub charm, and the food was great too.
