At last, a proper pub. Everything about the Swan Inn exceeded my expectations. Ample parking, dog friendly, spacious and near the Nature reserve. perfect for a walk then lunch. The food was sublime and made with care, (an anomaly these days for most pubs). The service was friendly and attentive. The perfect 'local' that we've been looking for. It's not our local by any means but would make you want to move into the village just to call it your local. Will definitely be revisiting and often. Compliments to the owners and chef.
This is a little wonder of a bolt hole in the countryside. I stayed for one night in early September.
My room was above the pub and I am pleased to say it was very peaceful. The bed was very comfortable and the linen fresh. The bathroom was contemporary and all the basic features that you want from a room for the night were spot on.
The food, both dinner and breakfast were simple but very well executed and that's what you want simple stuff done well!!
The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful and polite. That included the young "student/temp" staff.
The team have nailed it and while I wouldn't say it's a Gasto pub, I'd say that it is an excellent place to stay, eat and relax. Priced fairly and honestly as good things aren't cheap!
Well done Team Swan Inn!!
A big thumbs up.
This pub is located in a beautiful area with great scenic walks and off road cycling etc yet not far from Bristol, M5 etc. Our room was excellent. Very well appointed with lots of extra included. Super comfy bed and very quiet - had a brilliant night's sleep. Staff are really friendly and helpful and the food (had both supper and breakfast) are delicious - service was excellent. Highly recommend.
