My husband and I went for lunch today 2 courses for 15.95 which included a glass of wine plus a large bottle of chilled water. My husband had fresh crab salad to start and I had the parsnip soup with soda bread, followed by roast beef and roast pork. The food was good and hot and all nicely cooked and presented , good portion sizes , you certainly don’t go hungry, excellent value for money. Also free entertainment with a live jazz and blues singer . We will certainly go again and recommend to other people .
Excellent meal tonight. Our first time there. The food was superb, we ate from the tapas menu. Service was friendly and discreet.
A lovely place to go for an evening meal.
We'll certainly come back!
We popped into the Shepton Brasserie for a drink and decided to try the scone with tea/coffee offer. These scones were probably the best I've ever had and very well presented.
I had a large fruit scone, jam and clotted cream, whilst rest of family had the same, but with tea and butter instead of cream each for £4.50. Also available was a hot cross bun option in this offer.
Other food coming out also looked very nice and well presented. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. Seating is very comfortable, with a choice of dining chairs & tables or comfortable leather sofas.
Wheelchair access is good with plenty of room between tables to pass and also room to be able to leave a wheelchair at the end of tables for those who can transfer to a standard chair.
Spoke to the very pleasant chef who explained some of their future plans going forward. Set partially within the Haskins Department Store, this is by no means your normal department store café. They source and use where possible good quality local produce, the chef told us and things like the scones are baked on site. Prices are about what you should expect for an establishment like this.
We will definitely be paying a future visit next time we're up this way. Thanks for a lovely experience.
