My Column in the local paper :
After a tricky Half term week, it was lovely for Wayne and I to grab a romantic evening to ourselves on Friday. We headed down to Blostin's restaurant, and were very glad to find a cosy bar area with a roaring open fire. A few other couples were enjoying a glass of wine, and waiting to be seated. We all chatted happily, and it felt really relaxed. Vicky, a local lady, celebrating her birthday raved about the place, and thoroughly recommended the very special “Fillet of Beef baked in Puff Pastry with Madeira Sauce” , she gave it 11 out of ten ! We chose meals from the set menu, which is £20 for two courses/ £24 for three. Once seated, we only had to wait a few minutes for our starters to arrive. I tucked into the most deliciously fresh 'Smoked trout with potato pancakes, apple & beetroot salad” served on a delightfully rustic wooden platter. Wayne munched on slices of warm crusty “Blissful Garlic Bread” and sipped a local ale. Next he was absolutely blown away by his “ Slow roasted belly & fillet of Pork with apples & cider cream sauce” in twenty years he's never tasted Pork so good. I enjoyed a “Warm Chicken & Bacon salad” , then we shared a mouthwatering dessert of “Belgian Chocolate Cheesecake with homemade orange Cointreau Ice-Cream in a Brandy Snap basket”. Blostin's is Fine Dining, in a cosy setting. A real treat- and right on our doorstep!
I love this restaurant. There is always a lovely welcome. The food is always great. A very enjoyable place to eat. Would highly recommend.
Had a surprise birthday meal here. Friends and family from near and far. They all loved the meals and friendly atmosphere. Staff were fantastic. My 2nd time there, the first was a surprise anniversary meal for my wife
Definately would return and recommend to anyone.
