Stopped here with my partner and 8 month old boy after taking the nature trail walk at Rivelin Valley.
I loved that there was a split between the pub and eating area as this allowed people to eat in peace and other locals to then watch the football and drink beer in peace, this was a great touch.
The decor of the restaurant goes expertly well with the surroundings, it gives off a traditional country pub feel without being old fashioned, something that is extremely hard to do. The playlist was brilliant, something that often goes unnoticed and something i've never picked up on at a pub before but the music was pleasant.
It was a blustery afternoon so it was great to retreat to the warmth of the Hollybush with it's coal fire and great cider.
The food was fantastic; opting for the gourmet burger, homemade chips and onion rings. There wasn't much of a wait time and the quality was great. You could tell it was all homemade and freshly prepared.
The staff are fantastic and i'll definitely be returning here in the near future.
Thanks for making us feel welcome!
Superb now the new owners have turned it around. Great food and beer and clean comfortable surroundings.
Just had a great meal. Nice and friendly staff if we didn't live in Brisbane Australia we would be back
