Called in to meet family for lunch having never been before. I will definitely be going again!
The food was reasonably priced, my belly pork was £11 and it was done to perfection, nicely presented and hot. There was a good selection of meals and drinks.
The pub was spacious, and clean and the service was good.
I didn't take my dogs because I wasn't sure if they'd be allowed in but I did see a well behaved little dog there so assume it's dog friendly too.
This was my first visit with friends who live locally and as far as good pubs go the Shakespeare is right up there as one of the best. It has a warm, comfortable, homely feel like all the best traditional pubs should have and has a real family feel to the way it is being run. The staff are friendly, as were the clientele, it has sports on corner tv's that are not overly imposing, a well stocked and kept bar (the beer was excellent) and a huge garden area at the rear. We only had pub snacks which there were plenty of but apparently the food here is also very good so I Will adjust my review when I revisit and I will 100% be revisiting...what a little gem.
A camping trip to remember!
The owners allowed us to use a part of their garden to pitch our tent.
We drank and ate there and from the very start all the staff were amazing, friendly and accommodating. The land lord even provided us with a fire pit and wood. I can’t begin to tell you how lovely they are. We hope to do it again.
