We were made to feel very welcome. Service was excellent. My wife ordered Brie and cranberry with a portion of chips all home made and I had soup and a sandwich I must say the soup was delicious if you are passing it’s well worth a visit.
Great WiFi also
Food was really really good. Pub was nice, nothing over the top, with a very comfortable interior arrangement with lots of tables and a decent seating area of picnic tables out by the car park.
Had some good local cask ales, and a great trio of local sausages on a nice mash base with a phenomenal brown gravy. Seriously, I've never raved about gravy, but it really stole the show.
Just missed the live music (Saturday night), but made for a very nice evening.
We called in here after a day at Rudyard Lake and Tittesworth Reservoir. The food was absolutely lovely, and all of the staff were polite and attentive. We pass here quite often and will definitely be back. It's a little bit more expensive than we'd usually pay but you can see why in the quality of food. We had the vegetarian butternut squash roast 😋
