Don't book the rooms nearest the road. They are small, clean and comfortable but are far too warm. If you have an industrial sized fan unit, taking up valuable space in the room (that doesn't do much at all), then there is a problem. There is also a second fan that you can not adjust the height of, so it is completely pointless. You can't open the window as the traffic noise will keep you up most of the night. You can still hear the traffic with both the inner and outer windows closed. My friend had the same issues in the room next door.
Get a room in the other outbuilding.
Apart from the room, everything else was good. Friendly staff and good food.

Hotel called to say there was a problem with the air conditioning
We went to check the room at 12.30. Danni and her excellent team offered a 50% discount as there was no air conditioning. And an early check in.
Room was beautiful.
Hotel excellent
Staff all very helpful
Amazing experience.
Recommended and would visit again anytime.
What a lovely place.
Wonderful decorated room, comfortable bed. The bathroom was also simply excellent in size and style.
All staff we met were welcoming and helpful, on check in, evenings in the pub, the morning stuff for breakfast: excellent all around!
Lots of tiny things that are appreciated: Tea and coffee maker, hair dryer, ventilator, a fridge, lots of sockets to charge your phone, windows that actually open. Maybe that's usual for pub / B&B accommodation, maybe not... we did like it a lot!
Prices are not cheap, ok. However, with breakfast included, our two doggies on the bill and the quality of room and breakfast it surely is reasonable.
If we do take another vacation in the area, or a half-way stop between the channel tunnel and Cornwall, this would be the place I'd check for a free room first.
