I haven't visited The Lakes for a few years. Since then they have grown into quite a sophisticated restaurant. Stopped for a coffee and some cake and was asked if I had made a booking as it was busy. I hadn't but they accommodated as it was just coffee and desert. If it's the weekend I would recommend booking if you want to eat more. The staff are super friendly. Facilities were clean. There is a large decking area over the lake with cover and heaters for the winter. The desert was actually brilliant. Key lime pie and waffles with ice cream. Prices were reasonable considering the quality of food. I would have marked it as 4 star as I didn't have a main. I will go back to review the mains. Weekdays check their opening times. The area is shared with people fishing and makes for a pleasant view. It's not a massive venue but it punches big when it comes to food quality and friendly services. Parking is free and easy and there is easy access for all. Overall I would recommend a visit.

Gem of a place for breakfast. Everything cooked to perfection with a wonderful view over the lakes, listening to all the wildlife. I must say also everyone working hard whilst looking happy. Doing so many things right !!!

Really lovely place to enjoy breakfast or lunch. We sat on the veranda over looking the very well kept lake. Service was efficient and quick. The prices are definitely sporting!
