This was a really nice experience, the location was fab, really central and a proper sun trap. Staff were lovely and friendly. The food was a little slow, I think we waited about an hour but they did have a big function on. I also asked for my roast to come with extra meat rather than yorkshires and potatoes and I got so much delicious tender quality meat! So I was really happy and impressed with that. Both the food and drinks menu was really apprehensive too, a little pricey but worth it for the location I’d say. I would absolutely go again!
This review is exclusively for the restaurant at the Kings Head Hotel.
We reserved a table for a Sunday lunch as we brought our two dogs along. Even though we were half an hour early, it was absolutely no problem.
The staff was always very friendly. The food was fantastic and very tasty, definitely worth recommending the restaurant.
Be sure to make a reservation in advance!
This is an lovely old Georgian hotel. No lift because of the age of the place but on the plus side the stairs are wide and shallow so even an ageing crone like me could manage them, plus every landing had convenient chairs to sit and recover on.
Our room was at the front of the hotel (nice view) and the hotel exterior light illuminated our room all night. Not a major issue for us and to be fair we did have the curtains open a bit, but if you are light sensitive you may want to bring an eye mask or, y'know, pull the curtains!.
Bathroom toiletries are awesome and available for purchase.
Breakfast was more than adequate and there was plenty of it. It's from a menu rather than a buffet so all the food is fresh and hot.
The staff are very nice and friendly.
We really enjoyed our stay.
