We were looking for a quick grab and go lunch and Chango turned out to be the perfect option. We ordered 6 different empanadas — tomato basil, pumpkin and goat cheese, ham and cheese, beef, humita and a spinach feta. Each empanada flavor is crimped slight differently with initials of the flavor baker into them so that you can distinguish between them.
They’re all excellent choices, deliciously flavored and perfectly crispy. They’re sold warm, which is a nice touch! The tomato basil was my favorite - like a margarita pizza in an empanada.
During my three-week stay in England, this was one of the best food experiences I had and we kept coming back! It’s on a cozy street, service is quick and the flavors are amazing—olive and mozzarella was my favorite. Can’t wait to return someday and I’ll miss it very much until then!
Order your empanadas from the hatch, wait for them to be heated up and enjoy. We have bought them and heated them at home, but I think they do not taste as good as the ones from the shop. Do try the different fillings some of the flavours are really interesting. If you can find a bench on the Green to eat them all the better.
