Cosy pub with a good atmosphere.
The Sunday roast was of a good size and was tasty.
The apple crumble desert could have had more flavour, and the sticky toffee pudding was a bit overcooked, but overall, it was a good dining experience.
An odd combination of very, very good and pretty bad! The starter was excellent. One main course was delicious. One main course had superb top-notch sea bass, sauce and veg - but the roasted potatoes really seemed as though they had been made days before and warmed up in a microwave; pretty unpleasant to eat. One pudding excellent, one pudding 'meh'. Choice of alcohol free beers limited to just 2 lagers. Nice room, relaxing non-intrusive guitar music playing. Not cheap. Overall, because nearly everything else was great, the 1 bad thing can be overlooked I guess, will probably go again.
It’s been a while since we have had a Sunday lunch at a pub as frequently they never live up to expectations. I am delighted to say that the lunch today at the Seven Stars was excellent. The restaurant is very homely without being cramped, the staff are very welcoming and friendly. We had a drink at the bar before lunch. A choice of 4 starters, 4 roasts and 4 other mains. Don’t look beyond the roasts as they are superb. Beautifully cooked vegetables delicious gravy and a proper cut of tender meat. So much so that we didn’t have room for dessert - sorry. Means we have to come back!! Thank you.
