My family and friends have been here twice now. Firstly on a Sunday lunchtime, the quality of the meat was outstanding 3 thick slices and 6 types of vegetables. I had vegetarian which even came with its own gravy. The second time was a week day evening meal where my son had the 20 oz mix grill with was huge and tasty the rest had curries which were authentic and the veggie chickpea had perfect spice as I asked for madras heat. Both times the staff were constantly attentive, service perfect and a lovely beer garden. Happily recommend.

We stopped here at The Ship and very glad we did! Down to earth and friendly service fantastic homemade lasagne and chips and good gammon and chips at a very reasonable price. Don’t go to the more upmarket hotel next door, they were v. stuffy & rude about offering us a hot meal as they had no room in their restaurant but wouldn’t entertain us in the bar the lounge or the garden.
