Lovely cafe with lots of delicious cakes pasties etc. Lot of healthy options. I had the best jam donut l have ever tasted!
Also nice gift ideas of food and drinks biscuits sweets. Staff friendly and polite. A very busy place in a lovely area.
We stopped off here on our way to bellever tor. We are so pleased we did, as it's our new favourite cafe to visit for breakfast, it was absolutely delicious, the staff were lovely and it was ram packed with people, which we took as a good sign that we weren't going to be disappointed and we weren't. Will definitely be coming back again and have already recommended this place to family and friends. Dog friendly as well.
After an early morning walk with my dog high up on the Moor I stopped off in Princetown to use facilities and explore this small town.
The toilets were clean and tidy, 20p to use. Car Park £3.00 for up to 3hrs. The visitor centre is definitely worth a visit, lots of information and helpful staff.
On my walk around the small town I noticed quite a few people heading into The Fox Tor Cafe and as I hadn't had breakfast and needed a drink I popped in.
The cafe had a lively feel about it, tables were full and I received a warm welcome by the young lady behind the counter.
I ordered a standard breakfast (bacon, egg, sausage, beans, mushrooms, tomatoes hash brown and toast with orange juice) all this for £9.75. Great value for money. I also ordered a cappuccino.
The coffee arrived hot which is great (luke warm drinks is something I dislike) served by another member of staff, polite and friendly.
The cafe was clean, tidy with local art work on the walls, cards and gifts to also buy and lots of information leaflets within the entrance area. The tables are well laid out, different sized tables depending on the size of your group with plenty of space between them. There is also an outside area with tables and chairs. Dog friendly - They allow dogs in the cafe, I saw 1 dog during my visit.
It was very busy but not hectic, with a steady stream of customers. The staff were calm, organised obviously used to the pressures of a busy day.
My breakfast then arrived. It looked and tasted great. It was hot, not greasy, egg was runny, the sausage and bacon sourced locally and the toast came from a farmhouse loaf rather than sliced bread.
Although it was still busy I didn't feel rushed into leaving and once I had eaten my breakfast/drank my coffee I got up and gave my table to people patiently waiting.
I left feeling full and satisfied, ready to walk up another tor.
I would highly recommend this cafe to all for food and customer service.
I'll definitely stop by again when I'm walking the Moor, thank you all for a great experience. 🙂
