Set in such an idealic location, this hotel is beautiful. The staff would go out of their way to help you and they take the phrase 'The customer is always right' to another level. During our stay, we spent time with Cathal, The owner, and he was very knowledgable about local activities which would come in handy for longer stays. The bar is quaint and friendly with stunning views overlooking the water. The restaurant is situated at the front of the hotel again boasting stunning views. I work within a band so we stay/eat in alot of different places but the food in this place was amazing, the breakfast was cooked to perfection and so was our dinner. The food is faultless. The flavour of the steak is uncomparable to anything I have ever tasted before, it literally melts in the mouth. My room was beautiful, it was clean, fresh and modern but with a very homely feel to it. The bathroom also had everything that it should have and was again very clean. I would, without a shadow of a doubt, come back to this hotel and happily recommend to anyone.
We had our wedding at The Portaferry Hotel yesterday and could not rate this place high enough!! The owners and staff are the most attentive people we could have asked for. Every detail from start to finish was perfect, I was made to feel at ease from the minute we picked the venue! The “can do” attitude is second to none!
A gem of a hotel, with the most attentive staff and beautiful tasty food!! Thank you to all the staff who assisted with the wedding of the new Mr & Mrs O'Neill and inparticular a huge thank you to Mary and Cahal. Nothing was to much hassle. Hope to return and will highly recommend.
