A group of friends and I met up to play some Magic: The Gathering and hangout. The four of us were there for a few hours, and everything we ordered tasted great.
The staff were super nice and accommodating, and the place itself is gorgeous.
We'll definitely be back!
Update: For a few months now myself and a few friends have met once a week at Ground, and have always had a great time. The sandwiches and toasties are delicious, the range of cakes and buns incredible, and the drinks to die for. I personally recommend the Mocha with a slice of Lemon Drizzle cake.
Friendly, professional efficient staff. Great decor in lovely restored pump house overlooking the bann. Clean and well maintained. Accessible parking and toilet. Food and coffee are grand: similar quality to most small or medium sized chains decent quality but nothing too exciting.
The building was originally a pump house for pumping sewage across the river. Built in 1929. As a coffee house it’s a bit tight for space inside but good space outside looking over the river bann. Typical ‘Ground’ menu with good selection of sandwiches and traybake so shouldn’t be any surprises if you know the franchise. Works well as a stopover for walkers and cyclists.
