Email of complaint to Brewers fayre, includes review of Tesco Port Glasgow.
Very disappointed in your lack of customer service in your Greenock branch.
My heavily pregnant partner and I, travelled to Greenock on the 23rd of December; to buy a Christmas freezer shop. We were left stranded at short notice, when our ferry operator cancelled the last ferry home to the Isle of Bute.
We booked in at the Premier inn, Greenock. Brewers fayre is next door and works in conjunction, serving breakfast and dinners etc. We had £80 worth of frozen food in the boot which was destined to go to waste. We asked the Premier inn if they had the facility to store our food and prevent our Christmas dinner going to waste. They recommended you, as they had a very small freezer.
I spoke to your manager at the Greenock branch and after explaining our predicament; he dismissed us with a complete lack of interest or empathy. He told us you will note store outside food. Quite staggering given the situation we were in.
We travelled to Tesco in Port Glasgow, we explained our predicament and the response couldn't have been more different. They collected the shipping out of the car and stored it in their freezer overnight. They even presented my partner with a lovely bouquet of flowers, and wished us a merry Christmas! Absolutely outstanding! All the more impressive is the fact that the food was from Iceland! A huge thank you to Kerris Jones (Tesco manager).
This could just as easily been a promoter tale about your business, but instead; your manager (who represents you) has made it quite the opposite. You may of course feel that your manager handled this situation by the book? But let me assure you, common sense, courtesy, and customer service would argue otherwise.
I was in this tesco today and I had my 16 month daughter with me so trying to shop and keep her occupied is usually a tricky business,so I was very pleased to see that you had fruit that children could help themselves too,as my daughter loves bananas I was very delighted to see there were bananas she could have. So I managed to do the shop stress free whist she sat and ate her banana. Well done tesco! What a lovely idea and thank you so much
