After reading lots of good reviews about Filippo's, we decided to book a table there for our 2nd anniversary. So glad we did. This is a quaint little restaurant which holds no more than about 30 people at a time. When we entered we were warmly greeted by Filippo himself and then given a choice of tables. The restaurant is tastefully decorated with a feel of a traditional Italian eatery and it looked very clean. Soft candle lights and background opera music made a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere which we found very romantic. Filippo would occasionally join in with the music (he has a very good voice) which we found very entertaining and fun. Service was excellent, we were attended regularly but were never hounded or rushed at any stage of our evening. When we ordered our food it was brought in a timely manner and well presented. All the courses were freshly made and tasted delicious. The servings were generous and more than enough to satisfy most people's bellies. We had 3 courses and came out feeling full but not bloated. As for price and value, very good. In our opinion you would be hard pressed to find another local Italian restaurant offering better value, and we have eaten at many of them. All in all an excellent experience and we will be returning there soon for another wonderful meal. This is our new favourite Italian restaurant in the Bournemouth/Poole area and we can't recommend it highly enough. Thanks Filippo and see you soon.

We celebrated our 2nd year together last night 27 August and I wanted to go a little family Italian restaurant not a chain and Filippo was perfect. We had pizza and it was delicious "fait maison" home made Pilippo. The menu is simply perfect and has a varities of dishes. If you like to hear a bit of opera house then the scene is set and Pilippo join in with the singing which makes it even more special! We were very well looked after and Pilippo is ever so lovely. It was a treat! We will definitively return there very spoon. Highly recommended. Stephen and Brigitte
