What a little gem of a place. We stumbled on this by accident and I am so glad we did. What absolutely beautiful food. The place itself is nice and intimate with friendly and helpful staff. The meals are well prepared and tasty. We had the pie which comes with a large fluffy top and mushroom sauce that I could bath in. Stunning. Well worth a visit but not to many of you or I wont be able to book. Oh, and don't forget to order a bucket of the Mushroom sauce
I was here on a work night out about a week ago and must say that it's really nice to have a proper pint in a proper traditional local pub!
The selection of drinks was good with a mixture of familiar bigger names and local guest ales and beers, pricing was very reasonable for the area and the staff were excellent all night.
It was a particularly busy Saturday (thanks in part to the crowd from work), yet the wait at the bar was minimal and the staff dealt with it really well.
The gent who served me was clearly very knowledgeable about their guest beers and was even able to recommend a great pint when I fancied a change, describing taste notes and colour accurately, showing a proper understanding of product knowledge and the art of brewing in general.
Overall, an excellent little pub which is definitely worth a visit if you're in the area and fancy a pint or two!
Proper old fashioned pub, great Sunday lunch (dessert could have a bit bigger) good service and atmosphere. Hidden gem of a beer garden as well.
