Buzzing and busy and staff were friendly and courteous.
I don’t like greasy food and was pleased to get a cod in breadcrumbs which many places don’t do. My son enjoyed his kebab.
We were quick to be served.
Hope it does the indoor dining as some customers, like us enjoy that.
We are regulars at Seahouses and a system which works really well at a takeaway is for one person to take orders and payments and for other staff to cook and serve the food, people don’t seem to mind waiting if they have been quick in the queue.
I hope Gills does well.
Good value too.

Best fish and chips I've had in years! You have to wait for the fish to be cooked, but at least you know it's fresh. I had the small portion of fish and chips, and I only just finished it, so I've no idea what you get in a large portion 🤷🏼♂️
The premises were spotless, and there were signs on the tables saying you would be able to dine in in the near future. Highly recommended 😊
This place is with new owners, who have only just opened it up. The dine-in section isn't operational yet, and we would have been quite happy with take away, but they offered to let us sit down (we were the only customers at that moment) and so we agreed. The friendly staff then proceeded to service us up two delicious plates of fish and chips. The portions were huge and the quality of the food and the cooking were top notch. Even though I am a notoriously big eater, I couldn't finsh all of the food, so for the first (and possibly last) time in my life, I suggested they could probably afford to trim the portion sizes slightly! Clearly the new team is still findings its feet, and a big test will bew when the dine in goes fully on stream; they're forecasting end of August for that. But based on our experience today, these new owners deserve to succeed.
