I've (we've) been lots and lots; the food is gggrrreeeaaattt and the management and staff are always attentive and professional. If you love great food and if you want great Indian food then I (we) would happily recommend Haveli. They offer the best biryani I have ever tasted, ever!
After hearing great things about Haveli in Darras Hall, and getting a recommend to try a dish called the Railway Lamb Curry, we booked in using the very easy to operate online booking system for a table for 4 on a Tuesday night.
As it was our first visit, we did not know what to except if it would be busy or not, when we arrived we were able to park right outside so easy and there appears to be plenty of parking, we were greeted at the door and on our table within seconds menus in hand and drinks order getting sorted at an efficient pace.
As there were 4 of us and I know most of them will review in their own time, I will only rave about the delicious selection of food that I enjoyed last night, for a starter I went for the Cochin Crab Cakes, they were very similar to some I had in Barbados in a 5star hotel on the beach, yet these came with a nicer spice taste as well as being just the right amount of crisp on the outside and tender seafood texture in the centre. Defiantly one to try again., I enjoyed this with some poppadum’s and spices.
My main course was the highly recommended and I endorse the recommendation for the Railway Lamb Curry, as a side to this I went for the Feta Cheese Nan bread lovely this was, I then placed a quick order for Bombay potatoes as I had forgotten to order them to start they were there within minutes. There was plenty of Lamb and I felt a little guilty for over ordering with the potatoes as the Nan and the lamb would have been more than sufficient in fact I had to leave a little nan, but I’m sure the person to my right pinched it, this was a most enjoyable main course and as other’s who read my review know – Lamb is my favourite meal, and this is in my top 10 of all time. (I’ve even promised to take my littlest niece back to enjoy this meal)
And even though I was just able to finish my main course, I order a desert a fantastic Masala Cheese cake with sorbet, a great looking and even better tasting circle cheesecake that when mixed with the sorbet gave a favour mixture that you don’t taste often, loved every bite.
For the 4 of us including drinks it was only around £25 a person, well worth the short drive up to Darras Hall, will return again shortly,
This is the best Indian meal I have even had. The paleo menu is outstanding. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough - not only for its food but the service was second to none.
