Pepe's Piri Piri

The first restaurant I visited after landing from Toronto. Was suggested to me by a friend who lives in the UK. I got the half peri-peri chicken extreme flavour. The food blew away my expectations. It was very spicy just what I wanted! Coming from Toronto we often visit grilled chicken places like Nandos. Unfortunately most restaurants in Toronto fail to understand and deliver spicy flavours. I go to Nandos and get the extra hot every time but I have to repeat the same instructions (extra hot sauce, extra baste, etc.) and still it fails to meet expectations and it is never spicy enough. Every restaurant I go to its the same story, no spice no flavour. This was not the case for Pepes. All I had to say was extreme and they delivered. I ended up purchasing a bottle of extreme sauce. I usually take a bottle of nandos extra hot sauce everywhere. This will be my replacement for the next few weeks and I can have a bit of Pepes everywhere I go. Then I unfortunately will have to go back to my usual nandos sauce. Hoping one day Pepes will come to Toronto too (if you do come please don't downgrade your spicy standards, extreme should stay extreme even if people are unable to eat it there are lots of people like me who can).

I can never fault a company that owns up to their mistakes and makes it right, Just a shame I live in the place I do. Also the food and service otherwise is quite frankly amazing, the current manager deserves a raise or something for having to deal with a Hangry customer, bless More recently I've had to drop 1 Star for the size of the Coleslaw and Hummus £1.16 for a small tub holding two table spoons 🤔😅

I highly recommend Pepe’s Oxford, I’ve been to a few branches up and down the country but this one is by far the best out of the lot in all departments. Customer service is always on point (short waiting times), the food is always freshly cooked, the overall hygiene of the place is kept to a fairly high standard.
