Quite traditional pub, with my favourite beer on cask. The food was also excellent: I had a chicken, ham, and leek pie. The crust was firm enough to contain the tasty filling, but not at all tough or chewy.
My only complaint is that like most pubs nowadays they play music over the speakers. See the lovely book "Notes on a Beermat" by Nicholas Pashley for an extended lament about that.
I thought the food was fine (fish and chips) and my mother loved the atmosphere, but my father had a bad experience with the pie. There was a good selection of drinks and service was awesome. The dessert (crumble) was tasty too.
Came to this pub after having a panic attack. The atmosphere was chill, the bar staff were so lovely and welcoming. Exactly what I needed. The place was spotless and reasonably priced. Sat in the garden with my mum and daughter until I felt well enough to leave. That was very much helped by the easy going and friendly nature of the staff. Thank you for making my day so much better, and for finding my phone!
