We stayed in Seaview Villa for a long weekend to celebrate my 70th birthday. Such a lovely house, plenty of room for the 10 of us. The house is in a lovely position close to the beach and the high street, but very quiet. The house had everything you need for a relaxing stay. I would definitely recommend Seaview Villa for a family holiday . Plus Sherringham is a lovely part of Norfolk plenty to keep all of the family occupied. Would love to go back sometime in the future.
Fabulous new build house at The Ridgeway by Norfolk Homes. Four beds, three bathrooms and a downstairs cloakroom plus utility, so well catered for. Great off-street parking, comfortable for 3 vehicles and nice flat lawned garden. Sitting room opened into kitchen diner which was a nice bright social area. Our three major disappointments were 1) the second ‘main’ bedroom had a triangular shaped window that did not have a curtain/blind at the top point meaning light flooded into the bedroom from about 4.30am, just what you need on holiday! We would have expected Crabpot to have vetted this inadequacy. 2) the smart tv did not work properly on Netflix, BBC iPlayer, etc and just saying in the instructions that the system had ‘hissy fits’ is not acceptable - needs fixing. 3) the garden backed onto the steam railway line, which whilst charming was not secure, with one of our dogs managing to get onto the line. Highly dangerous, and again told a secure garden which it was not. Otherwise beautiful location, 10 minutes walk to the beach, 5 minutes into town and 5 minutes from the new Reef leisure centre.
I stayed at Wing House at Gunthorpe Hall for a hen weekend. The house is lovely with some really quirky features and had plenty of room for 11 of us. It is perfect for a hen party or weekend away with a group of friends as most of the beds can be made in to singles and there's a large open-plan kitchen/dining/living area. Wing House itself has a lovely courtyard garden and as there was no one staying at the main hall over the weekend, we were told we could go anywhere on the grounds which are beautiful. There's even a lake which you can swim in if you fancy it. Our contact at Gunthorpe Hall was really helpful with all of our queries and even brought us some extra champagne flutes over when we asked.
Booking through Crabpot Cottages was really easy and the team were super helpful. They sent us a handy online guide a week or so before our stay which covered everything from check in/out to guides for things to do in the area. This was especially useful when trying to explain to 11 people where they needed to get to!!
Overall, a fab weekend.
