Called in today for a coffee and one of my party ordered food. Service was quick and friendly. The flat white was really nice - good quality blend of coffee and the food was really tasty as well. The staff were extremely friendly and cheerful even though it was nearly closing time and they must have been tired after a busy Saturday.
The only thing that disappointed was the interior decor. Very plain and uninspiring, many of the seats were split and needed replacing and the walls were quite stark. When you see the sign and the cakes, you’re reminded of the opulent cafes of France and the decor needs to deliver this expectation when you walk in. It needs an interior designer to come in and concentrate on the set design.
It’s a shame when you’ve clearly got excellent staff who care about their customers being let down by the bigger company who can’t see what it needs to be. The product is good, the staff are great, it wouldn’t take much to update the decor to give the customer a more memorable experience.
Very enjoyable first visit as a result of being given a "Buy a gift" voucher. Helpful polite staff. Will be recommending to friends and hopefully revisiting soon.
Giving this a 4 star as we were given a replacement drink....
Arrived to claim a free birthday cake and also a tea for 2 with scones. I ordered tea and my mum ordered a latte.
As soon as the tea arrived the cup was dirty. I wiped this out with a tissue I had, however when I poured the milk it floated to the top which means it's gone off. We took this back to the counter and they gave us another latte instead.
The scones were nice and warm and they were very nice.
The cake we got for free as it was my birthday we had in as well which was also very nice. Lots of cake options which say if they are vegetarian or not. Wouldn't pay the amount it cost for one though, especially the eclairs which were £4.20-£4.50
