A wonderful local pub.
Not modern, but clean and comfortable, also has a jukebox! And has photos on the wall that takes you back into history.
Great homemade food, staff who have a nice and friendly approach .
It's warm and friendly. A nice outdoor seating area, a covered area also with a heat lamp.
Has rooms for hire for b&b.
Nothing not to like here.
We spent two nights in the pub rooms and were pleasantly surprised. The room was large with a huge bed, tv with freeview, tea and coffee facilities and plenty of towels. We had room 5 and it was bright, quiet and clean. The service here was excellent and the ladies working downstairs were very accommodating and they even left us a pack up because we left early on our final morning. Breakfast was fresh and filling.
Improvements could be made in the bathroom with the tiles and shower edging but these are only minor issues.
Thanks to the staff for making our stay comfortable.
We had a 1 night stay as we had an event to go to in the area close by. We had room 7 which maybe could do with a refresh but it was as clean, warm and well equipped. There was a green light on the ceiling which bathed the room in green light all night but luckily we were a bit worse for wear so it didn’t stop us from sleeping 😂. Bed was huge and comfy. Tea & coffee tray. No complaints at all. The pub is great, sells a good selection of ales and wines. Some bloke was a bit sweary in the main bar but thats not the pubs fault. The food was lush, with a range of home cooked options on the menu. Breakfast was included and was amazing. Finally, the staff were 10/10 for friendliness and professionalism. The price was amazingly good value. I’d highly recommend a stay here.
