Jason and Melanie would like to thank everyone from Debbie and her staff that made our wedding day very special from start to finish. Can't fault the service, as nothing was too much trouble and the food fabulous! We can't recommend The Embankment enough if you were considering using their place for weddings. Once again, thank you so much xx
What a great pub! Everything about it is good -- the beer, the lovely and helpful staff, the food, the atmosphere, the garden and the room upstairs for weddings etc. Love it.
Nice historic pub ( it used to be the old Boots pharmacy social club) serving about 12 real ales and ciders and plenty of others on tap. Friendly staff. Serves food. Allows stop overs but be sure to ring ahead. There’s a computer system to input your vehicle details. Do this on arrival or risk being fined! It’s about a 15 minute stroll into town. Recommended. 🍻 🍎 🍏 🥘 🚐
This Castle Rock pub is great. Lots of space and lots of outdoor space some of which is covered for rainy days or shade for sunny days. We went with friends for a Sunday roast. Food took quite a while to come but when it did we totally forgot about that. It was amazing and huge! Good value for money. There were so many different veggies, roast carrots and potatoes, mash, green beans, broccoli, red cabbage and then a huge piece of stuffing, Yorkie and the meat. And one of us had the veggie option which looked good. My husband made the comment that he’d have liked it on a bigger plate but then we decided that we actually liked it all piled up as you kept getting surprises as you went down through it and the food stayed hotter. The beers at this pub are brilliant. They have a huge range of craft beers, real ales and more. We sat in the conservatory to eat then moved outside for a final drink in very slightly cooler air. The staff were friendly.
A fascinating old building to visit. The pub used to be a Boots pharmacy which opened in 1907, and visual memories in the decor and in pictures on the walls are there to remind you of the building’s past.
The pub is dog friendly and the staff are professional and pleasant to deal with. An excellent choice of beers are available in particular.
We spent a very enjoyable weekend afternoon there with a group of friends and their dogs.
Based on my experience I can strongly recommend this pub as a excellent choice to visit .
I really love this place. Nice and spacious but with a cosy atmosphere and friendly staff. It's also dog friendly. Great place for a drink or a nice meal. Some good veggie options and dietary options. And all at a reasonable price.
I booked the conservatory for a small family gathering and it was just perfect. Really cosy with strings of twinkly fairy lights, and super warm despite it being January! The buffet food was lovely and we really enjoyed having the space to ourselves but also having easy access to the bar and the excellent choice of beer. Thanks to all of the staff who were so hospitable and helpful.
This pub is in a formerr Boots Pharmacy and is an historic building.
It has an interesting and varied menu and the staff are very helpful.
I have taken my walking group here several times as the Embankment pub is just yards away from the River Trent where some excellent waterside walks can be enjoyed.
Ask the staff if you can see the upstairs rooms which are amazing and used for weddings. A very interesting venue.

The Embankment is a spectacularly beautiful, very large pub to the south of Nottingham centre, between the station and the Trent Bridge cricket stadium. A good place for cask ale lovers, and a great venue for hanging out for a couple of hours. Friendly staff, wonderful, extensive outside seating area, and not too loud. What's not to like?
Best Sunday roast I’ve had in ages, portion was massive and all of it was delicious, the slice of stuffing was especially tasty, would highly recommend
Lovely building. Like a pub and registry office all in one.
Great for small weddings, as it has almost everything... car park, history, small area for photos outside. However, was a little let down on the food. Sour dough toast, which was like a rock. And brocoli that was crunchy.... to the point of being almost fresh. Staff were very casual too. Nice staff mind... nothing wrong with them, just not smart. Not quite wedding....
I am bound to be bias as my wife and I had our wedding here which was obviously the 2nd best day in both our lives (so far)
However we have always had great service the regular food is awesome and one of the many reasons we love going. This also benefits from being like all the other Castle Rocks in Nottingham in that it serves a large variety of different draught.
It is stupidly busy on Forest match days but don't let the que for the bar put you off the staff know exactly what they are doing and you can been seen too in a matter of minutes.
The great outdoor seating means the pub is perfect no matter the season.
The building is also an old Boots Pharamacy (hence the decor) so if you haven't been go
I've attached some photos of the wedding day incase any of you are looking at this review are considering it as a location for your function.
