Absolutely incredible food would definitely go back. Had quite a few vegan options and the staff were very friendly and were very reassuring about what was vegan or not. The nicest onion bahji's they tasted so good and homemade. The currys were all different flavours and the dahl was so lovely and spicy. Would definitely recommend this takeaway to anyone who is nearby.
in the same row as Papa Jon's and dominoes, we came to for pizza, but we left with a home cooked curry! it's so nice to have another choice in this row of shops.
we opted for the large- two person tray that you can see in the pictures. with samosas, curried chips (the wife's favourite) and this amazing kale pakora. the first to disappear was the crunchy light kale pakoras, lightly fries in a crunchy batter with only a hint of the oil they were cooked in about them. the samosas were small and clearly homemade, in a thicker pastry than you may be used to. here we had two chutneys that simply hit the mark, a minty spicey one and a redder sweet one. either or- both were perfect. The curried chips had a really authentic Indian street food tang and were perfect accompaniment to the sides.
from the main bento tray the three chilli spicy lamb was hot hot hot and so tender and suclent with a blend of spice and heat that clearly was not mass produced. this is home cooking as my Umma makes. I really hope they keep this standard of meat and curry sauce as so many Indian restaurants start great and then cut the quality of the meat. Here the curry sauce was so tasty that I even sent the curried chips in for a bath!
my wife had a succulent chicken affair that had a distinct smooth yellow sauce, it was mild and flavourful- but didn't hold a candle to the lamb with the three chilli's beside it!
then came the Dall and the rice. this is where I dropped a star, the Dall was weak and runny, it had all the promise of a well seasoned dish but just didn't deliver. the rice where generously packed but a shade under cooked, lacking and real depth and flavour. We left them and hqd at the amazing naan bread and paratha- which I'd advise should have been wrapped separately. As the oil from the paratha does nothing for the fragrance of the naan bread. Both were delicious and disappeared in minutes.
So waaghoba has some dishes that are totally stella- it's home cooked feel is exactly what this row of shops needs and at 12.95 for a bento tray I think it's excellent value for money, I'd really like to try their vegan tray as this kind of 'thali' style is famous for having amazing tasting vegetarian cuisine- hopefully they'll fix that daal!
overall brilliant! I'm looking forward to going to get a pizza for the kids and a Waaghoba for me and the wife!
I recently ordered food from this Indian takeaway restaurant and it was absolutely fantastic! The food was incredibly flavorful and cooked to perfection. The portions were generous, and every dish was packed with authentic Indian spices and flavors.
What really stood out to me was the excellent customer service. The staff were friendly, attentive and went above and beyond to ensure my order was correct and delivered in a timely manner. They even included complimentary extras, which was a lovely surprise and made me feel like a valued customer.
Overall, I highly recommend this Indian takeaway restaurant to anyone looking for delicious and authentic Indian food. The quality of the food and the customer service were both exceptional, and I will definitely be ordering from here again in the future. A definite five-star rating from me!
